York right-hander David Flowers made an effective start against the Galesburg Guzzlers at York Park, leading his team to a 2-0 win. In 7.1 innings, Flowers surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 0. He allowed no runs. Jeffery Johnston closed it out for his 2nd save.

Tied up with the Guzzlers in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Revolution got a boost from center fielder José Soriano. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Soriano saw a full count cutter from Ángel Martínez and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put York on top, 2-0.

"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Soriano.

The Revolution, now 8-4, have played some good baseball in the early going.
