Late Rally by Blaze Seals 4th Straight Win
|
The Galesburg Guzzlers got a superb performance from pitcher Morton Huffman, but the South Beach Blaze still won the game, 5-2. Huffman was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. Earning his 2nd save of the year was Jacob Swanson. With their winning streak at 4, the Blaze have raced to a strong start this season.
South Beach relied on the hitting of John Jankila to pick up the win. The second baseman ripped a 2-run triple in the top of the ninth inning to put the Blaze on top, 3-2. For the game, Jankila had 1 triple and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We take it day by day here," said Jankila, "and today was a good one for us."
