Late Rally by Rainbow Mermaids Seals 5th Straight Win
|
Eustacio Tafalla made an impact in the 8-4 Northern Virginia win over Thunder Bay. Tafalla, who is tied for 5th in the SL with a 1.160 OPS, went 3 for 5 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Reliever Kent Randall picked up the win. His record improves to 2-0. Walt Coffman took the loss. The Rainbow Mermaids, now 11-2, have had a terrific start to the season.
Scott Dourque hit a 2-run double off António Muñóz in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Rainbow Mermaids in front, 6-4. In addition to the double, Dourque had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Tafalla said.
