|
The Phoenix Hotspur U-21 scored a 3-2 win versus the Syracuse Storm at Hotspur Kiddie Complex. Phoenix left fielder Daniel Joseph nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Ernesto García picked up the win, improving his season record to 3-8. He struck out 3 in 5.1 innings. Phat Tra earned his 4th save in 4 tries.
Joseph contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Phoenix in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 1-0, Joseph took a fastball from Ramón Flores and stroked the home run to left-center. His 6th home run of the season allowed the Hotspur U-21 to leap in front, 2-1.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Joseph.
With the win, the Hotspur U-21 have a record of 40-48.
