Expos Win Thriller, 3-2
|
Well, that's how to end a game in style.
The Alameda Airmen got a superb performance from pitcher Jaime Rúbio, but the Niagara Falls Expos still won the game, 3-2. Rúbio was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 8 innings of shutout ball. The Expos go to 37-51, putting them last in the Silver A.
Niagara Falls's win came gift-wrapped. With two out in the bottom of the ninth, with the game tied, Barney Wilson reached on an error by the right fielder, driving in 1 run.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Niagara Falls manager Terry Stokes said.
