|
Niagara Falls starter Curt Pless pitched effectively against the Mancelona Torch at Torch Field. The right-hander led his team to a 2-0 win. Pless, now 5-6, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 3, walking 3, and allowing no earned runs. Alfonso Hadalgo was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 18 of 21 save opportunities.
Niagara Falls used the clutch hitting of Juan Mireles to capture the win. The right fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to give the Expos the lead, 1-0. For the game, Mireles had 1 single and 2 doubles in 4 at-bats.
Pless called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
