Niagara Falls had no answer for Mancelona Torch starter Kenzaburo Hakui, who flummoxed Expos hitters as the Torch cruised to a 6-0 victory. With the win, the Torch improved to 41-35.
Hakui, who was born in Honjo, Japan, threw 98 pitches over 7 innings, while allowing no earned runs.
Hakui called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
