Chicago right-hander Edwin Meadows made an effective start against the Syracuse Storm at Ramblers Ballpark, leading his team to a 4-2 win. The Tula move to 35-40 with the win, while the Storm drop to 44-31.

Chicago center fielder Eddie Hickford contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a cutter into center field for a 2-run single. It was his 41st hit of the season and put the Tula ahead, 3-0.

"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Syracuse manager Theodore Johnston. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
