Mancelona pitcher Lucas Gameiro did his part in helping his team beat the Alameda Airmen, 4-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Amadi Azagba, credited with the save, is now 20 for 24 in save opportunities. The Torch bumped their record to 40-34 with this latest triumph.
In the bottom of the fifth, Mancelona catcher Bogdan Lissenberg had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 2nd and two out, Lissenberg stroked a run-scoring single to left-center. It made the score 1-0, Mancelona. For the game, he was 1 for 3.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Mancelona manager Charles Schmidt.
