A nice crowd turned out to see the Niagara Falls Expos and Syracuse Storm clash at Storm Park.

Niagara Falls first baseman Dragoljub Kandic made his presence felt in the 9-4 Expos triumph over the Syracuse Storm. Kandic slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Luis Cuevas was the winning pitcher. Over 6.2 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 8 hits, with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts. Juan Santos sewed up the save, his 2nd.

Niagara Falls used the timely hitting of Juan Mireles to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Expos ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Syracuse manager Theodore Johnston. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."

Niagara Falls is last in the Silver A with a record of 30-42.
