Late Rally by Dragoons Secures Win
|
Washington got a terrific performance from pitcher Klaus de Lijser, but it wasn't enough to beat the Louisiana Dragoons. Louisiana won the Washington Park contest, 4-2. de Lijser was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 8 innings of shutout ball. Wesley Mason notched his 14th save in 14 chances. The Generals, at 33-38, have lost 5 straight games.
António Muñóz made it 3-2, Louisiana, in the top of the ninth when he drew a walk, driving in 1 run. It was a big at-bat in the Dragoons win.
"Enjoyed this one," Muñóz told the Louisiana Chronicle. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
