Victory Pushes Tula Record to 31-27
|
The Chicago Tula beat the Washington Generals, 7-3, at Ramblers Ballpark. Chicago third baseman Jim Schroeder earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He was 3-4 with 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Paul Workman, who went 5.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 7 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 5-2. The Tula' win now puts them at 31-27.
With Chicago leading 3-1 in the bottom of the third, Schroeder hit a fastball from Cédric Dupré for a 2-run single. It was his 33rd hit of the season and put the Tula ahead, 5-1.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Schroeder told the Chicago Daily News.
