Torch Get One-Run Win at Alameda
|
Mancelona Torch starter Lucas Gameiro turned in a top-notch performance against the Alameda Airmen at Alameda Field. The result was a win for the Torch, 2-1. Gameiro picked up the win for Mancelona, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 3-1. At 29-25, Mancelona is in 4th place in the Silver A.
It could have been a different outcome for Mancelona, had it not been for Feng-yi Wen, the 22-year old catcher . Wen contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the fourth inning to put Mancelona up, 2-0.
"Lucas was pounding the zone," said Mancelona manager Charles Schmidt.
