Smokies Win, Meaker goes 4-for-5
|
The Tennessee Smokies downed the Washington Generals, 10-7, at Washington Park. Mo Meaker led the way, going 4-for-5 for Tennessee. Joe Gram finished to wrap up his 7th save. The Smokies move to 30-24 with the win, while the Generals drop to 26-28.
Meaker came through with some timely hitting for Tennessee. With the score 3-2 in the top of the second and one down, Meaker hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring triple. His 3rd triple of the season made it 4-2, Tennessee.
"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Jerome Perry.
