Extra-Inning Win by Torch over Airmen
Alameda pitcher Jaime Rúbio gave the Torch all they could handle, but in the end, Mancelona left Alameda Field with a 3-2 win. Rúbio allowed no earned runs on 3 hits over 5 innings. Mancelona reliever Amadi Azagba picked up the win, bumping his record to 3-1. Wilbur Carson was collared with the loss. George Kipcak locked down his 2nd save.

Mancelona used the timely hitting of Matsudaira Sugahara to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Torch on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

After the game, Mancelona manager Charles Schmidt applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.

With the win, the Torch improved to 28-25.
