The Syracuse Storm racked up a win at Washington Park, bumping off the Washington Generals, 4-3. Sterling Wheeler, who started for Syracuse, pitched effectively for his team. With the win, the Storm improved to 23-18.

Syracuse used the timely hitting of Nikolai Volkoff to capture the win. The first baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Storm ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was an important one.

Volkoff attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
