Dragoons Shut Out Generals
|
With second baseman Edgar Wright leading the charge, the Louisiana Dragoons defeated the Washington Generals, 4-0, at Washington Park. Wright, who is tied for 10th in the SA in doubles with 11, was 2 for 4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Louisiana reliever Craig Mack picked up the win to move to 2-2. Cédric Dupré suffered the loss. Gregory Powers finished to wrap up his 2nd save.
Louisiana used the timely hitting of Junior Young to capture the win. The catcher socked a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put the Dragoons ahead, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was an important one.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Young said.
The 6th-place Dragoons now have a win-loss record of 18-20.
