Torch Clip Airmen in Tight Contest
The Mancelona Torch beat the Alameda Airmen, 7-3, at Torch Field. Mancelona first baseman Teok-kyu Pak earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Reliever Larry Walsh picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Barney Padgett took the loss. Mancelona is now 16-20, while Alameda is 20-16.

Mancelona took a 5-3 lead on Pak's 1st home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Barney Padgett in the bottom of the eighth, propelled Mancelona to the win.

"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Mancelona manager Charles Schmidt.
