5 Straight Wins for Airmen
|
Bernardo Hernández left his imprint on the 7-3 Alameda win against the Mancelona Torch. Hernández, who is tied for 8th in the SA in extra base hits with 14, went 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Alameda reliever Gene Kendall picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-2. Zi-cheng Yang was collared with the loss. Alameda has run its win streak to 5 in a row.
Hernández came through with some timely hitting for Alameda. With the score 1-0 in the top of the second and two down, Hernández hit a first pitch fastball for a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season made it 3-0, Alameda.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Hernández told the Alameda Herald.
