Generals Continue Skid Thanks to Hernández, Airmen
|
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Bernardo Hernández, the Alameda Airmen defeated the Washington Generals, 9-5. Hernández went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Airmen. Batu Khan picked up the save, his 10th. Washington has now lost 4 consecutive games.
Had Sebastian Franke not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Franke hit a 2-run single. That made the score 7-5, in favor of the Airmen.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Alameda manager Harris Bailey.
