The Laredo Hawks picked up a win at Torch Field, knocking off the Mancelona Torch, 3-2. Starting pitcher Dave Hamilton, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. The Hawks bumped their record to 16-13 with this latest triumph.

Asberry Harpending went 1 for 2 with a walk for Laredo. The 22-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the top of the seventh. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring walk off Zi-cheng Yang. It was his 15th walk of the season.

"Baseball is about momentum," said Hamilton, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
