Generals Walk It Off for 15th Win of Season
|
Behind a solid performance from first baseman Alex Avery, the Washington Generals defeated the Mancelona Torch, 7-6. Avery went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Generals. Washington reliever Van Hileman was credited with the win, to go to 2-0. Lucas Gameiro took the loss for Mancelona. With the victory, the Generals record now stands at 15-12.
In the bottom of the ninth, with no one out and the game tied, 6-6, catcher Zong-ming Tsui won it for Washington. With a runner on 1st, Tsui hit a 2-2 curveball from Lucas Gameiro for a run-scoring triple, giving his team a 7-6 win.
Tsui said this kind of win gives the team "a buzz."
