Rainbow Mermaids Score Late to Upend 1837 BBC, 5-4
The Houston 1837 BBC got a superb performance from second baseman Joey Trifone. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Northern Virginia. The Rainbow Mermaids won the game, 5-4. In spite of the loss, Trifone was named the player of the game. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Northern Virginia, now 5-1, is setting the league on fire so far.

Zahid Kashani took Kostas Antetokounmpo deep in the bottom of the ninth. His solo home run put the Rainbow Mermaids on top, 5-4. In all, Kashani had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.

"There's nothing like the buzz of a walk-off win," Kashani said.
