Storm Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
The Syracuse Storm picked up a win at Torch Field, knocking off the Mancelona Torch, 8-4. Starting pitcher Ramón Flores was an essential part of his team's success. In 7.1 innings, Flores surrendered 10 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. He allowed 4 runs. The Storm are now 18-6, while the Torch fall to 11-13.

Syracuse used the timely hitting of Nikolai Volkoff to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Storm on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Volkoff said.
