Cruz Sensational for Storm
|
It was a good time at Storm Park, where fans came to watch the Phoenix Hotspur U-21 and Syracuse Storm get after it.
The Syracuse Storm picked up a win at Storm Park, knocking off the Phoenix Hotspur U-21, 5-1. Starting pitcher Jesús Cruz, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. The first-place Storm have won 4 in a row.
Cruz, the winner, is now 1-1. In 8 innings of work, he gave up 1 earned run on 3 hits, while collecting 8 Ks. He essentially shut down the Phoenix offense.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Syracuse manager Theodore Johnston.
