The Alameda Airmen defeated the Niagara Falls Expos, 6-3, in USSL Single A action at Waterfall Park, with Alameda pitcher Bert Hollingsworth named player of the game. The win brings the Airmen to 7-10, a soft start for a team that made the playoffs just last season.

Sebastian Franke's hit in the top of the 11th was a game-changer. With two out, he rapped a fastball from Alfonso Hadalgo for a run-scoring single. It put Alameda in front, 4-3.

"We did a lot of things right," said Hollingsworth.
