Niagara Falls and Washington met at Washington Park in front of a lively crowd.

Washington had no answer for Niagara Falls Expos hurler Edison Carter, who overwhelmed Generals hitters as the Expos coasted to a 9-1 victory. Niagara Falls is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 6th in 15 games.

In his 109-pitch effort, Carter allowed no earned runs on 2 hits over 7.1 innings. He walked 3 and struck out 9.

"We took it on the chin today," said losing manager Desmond Woodford.
