Torch Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Hotspur U-21
Jesse McCoy had a good game, but he could not keep the Phoenix Hotspur U-21 from falling, 7-5, to the Mancelona Torch at Hotspur Kiddie Complex. The Phoenix third baseman went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once in the loss. Mancelona reliever Jian-gun Lin picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Sean Neely was collared with the loss. Amadi Azagba earned the save, his 2nd.

Mancelona used the clutch hitting of Aguostinho Antunes to capture the win. The catcher drilled a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to give the Torch the lead, 7-5. For the game, Antunes had 2 singles and 1 double in 5 at-bats.

"I felt good up there," said Antunes. "I saw the ball well."

The win gives Mancelona a record of 3-4.
