The Washington Generals picked up a win at Washington Park, knocking off the Mancelona Torch, 4-1. Starting pitcher Yaroslav Red'kin played a key role in the triumph. Washington goes to 2-0 with the win.

António Salas had a big 2-run double for the Generals in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Washington leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from George Kipcak and stroked the double to right. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Generals ahead, 3-0.

"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Washington skipper Desmond Woodford. "I can't complain."
