Expos Come Up Short at Alameda
Fans of the Alameda Airmen who packed the stands for the home opener were rewarded with a Alameda win over the visiting Niagara Falls Expos, 2-1. Sake Bravenboer started for the home team against Mike Hess. Mike Hess earned the coveted player of the game honors. Batu Khan was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.

A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and no one out in the bottom of the fourth inning. That's when catcher Johnny Jones, who is rated as the 69th best prospect by BNN, drew a walk. The Airmen went on to win.
