Lake Erie rode a fine outing from starter Armando González to victory over the Eugene Vandals at Arryns Ballpark. The final score was 3-2. Lake Erie reliever Surya Prawiranega got the win, raising his record to 5-3. César Bravo was tagged with the loss. Lake Erie has now won 4 straight.
The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Adrián Xirau came to bat in the bottom of the ninth. Facing Eugene pitcher César Bravo, he hit a 2-1 sinker for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Lake Erie on top, 3-2.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Xirau said.
