Kennesaw starter Andy Williams had a strong outing against the Put-In-Bay BC at Put-In-Bay Ballpark. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 6-2 win. The winning pitcher was Williams, now 9-7. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 7. The Jets raised their record to 61-33.
Kennesaw used the timely hitting of José Ortega to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Jets on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"This was a good win for us," said Williams. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
