Chukars Beat Bulls, 9-3
|
Idaho Falls beat Mt. Vernon on the strength of starter Tom DeHart's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 9-3 win. The winning pitcher was DeHart, now 4-4. He tossed 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 10. With the win, the Chukars have a record of 34-47.
Idaho Falls used the timely hitting of Damon Cross to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Chukars on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Cross.
