Jets Clip Arryns in Tight Contest
|
Behind a solid performance from right fielder Obke Preesman, the Kennesaw Jets defeated the Lake Erie Arryns, 7-6. Preesman went 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for the Jets. Kennesaw reliever Bradley Leeder got the win, raising his record to 1-1. Luis Matos was tagged with the loss. The third-place Jets have won 6 consecutive games.
Had Preesman not come through in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have changed. Instead, with two down, Preesman hit a grand slam. The Jets never looked back after taking the 7-6 lead.
"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Preesman told the Kennesaw Times. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
