Victory Pushes BC Record to 33-28
|
The BC had to overcome a fine effort from Grim pitcher Wilbert Gallegos to grab a narrow 3-2 win at The Coffin. Gallegos went 6 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. The win was Terry Hall's in relief. His record improves to 4-0. Wilbert Gallegos took the loss for Grim. Fernando Colón, credited with the save, is now 10 for 13 in save opportunities.
It could have been a different outcome for Put-In-Bay, had it not been for Leslie Small, the 22-year old center fielder . Small contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Put-In-Bay up, 3-2.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Grim manager Enrique Zumaya. "But we decided not to take it."
Put-In-Bay has now won 3 in a row.
