Lake Erie got a terrific performance from pitcher Greg Hoover, but it wasn't enough to beat the Kennesaw Jets. Kennesaw won the Arryns Ballpark contest, 3-1. Hoover was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 5 innings allowing 2 runs. Kennesaw reliever François Boyer picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Greg Hoover absorbed the loss. Alexander Goodpasture closed the door for Kennesaw, picking up his 20th save of the year.

Kennesaw used the timely hitting of Lodd Felton to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Jets on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"This is a very good team," said Felton. "We have the chance to do something special."

Kennesaw has an impressive 35-16 record.
