Victory Over Jets Takes Columbia to 22-7
|
Carsello Scruggins was instrumental in his team's 5-2 triumph over the Kennesaw Jets. The right fielder was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Columbia River Rats. Vincent Hubbard got the win, improving to 4-1. He held the Jets to 2 earned runs on 4 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 2. Mario Sánchez earned the save for Columbia, his 6th of the year.
Early in the game, Scruggins had a grand slam home run for Columbia. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the River Rats on top, 5-1.
Scruggins told a Columbia News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
The River Rats improved to a lofty 22-7.
