Longnecks Topple Humpbacks, 3-1

The Longnecks had to overcome a fine effort from Alaskan pitcher Ricardo Martínez to grab a narrow 3-1 win at Sea World. Martínez went 7 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. The winner was Ron Mingo in relief. His record improves to 5-4. Ricardo Martínez took the loss. The save went to Leon Alfons, his 1st this season.
Bloomington used the clutch hitting of Richello Mabait to capture the win. The right fielder drilled a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Longnecks the lead, 3-1. For the game, Mabait had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Mabait said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
The Humpbacks, now 53-31, have lost 4 in a row.
