Golden Cranes Edge Calgary in Pitching Duel
|
The Santa Barbara Golden Cranes eked out a 1-0 win versus the Calgary Lynx at Lynx Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Dylan Telford, who captured player of the game honors. Telford, the winner, moves to 3-5. He threw 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 5 walks. Santa Barbara is now 34-48, while Calgary is 50-32.
It could have been a different outcome for Santa Barbara, had it not been for Jody Clark, the 25-year old center fielder . Clark contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put Santa Barbara up, 1-0.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Clark.
