Longnecks Beat Humpbacks, 4-2
|
Bloomington got a strong outing from Bill Tugwell as the Longnecks defeated the Alaskan Humpbacks, 4-2, at Sea World. Steve Wortley got the save, the 1st for him this season. Bloomington is last in the Premier AAA with a record of 30-52.
The result might have been different for Bloomington, had it not been for Tony Martínez, the 28-year old shortstop . Martínez stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put Bloomington up, 4-2. For the game, he had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I found a nice groove out there," said Tugwell.
