The Brinkley Belugas did just enough to secure a 3-2 victory over the Scranton Supernovas at Nuclear Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher De John Cleland, who captured player of the game honors. Ron Manning, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save. The Belugas now have a mark of 36-30.
Vicente Romero put Brinkley in front, 3-0, when he hit a 2-run home run off Joaquín Pérez in the top of the fifth. It was his 2nd home run of the season.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Scranton manager Micheal Garren, "let me know."
