The inspired effort of Bakersfield first baseman Omer Yurtseven was not enough to prevent a 8-7 loss to the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes. Yurtseven went 3-6 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Pablo De La Torre was called on to finish, recording his 1st save. Santa Barbara is now 26-39, while Bakersfield is 43-22.

Santa Barbara used the bat of Juan Ramírez to capture the win. The pinch hitter jacked a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Golden Cranes ahead, 8-7. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a dandy.

In comments to the Santa Barbara News, Ramírez admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
