The Santa Barbara Golden Cranes eked out a 2-1 win versus the Bloomington Longnecks at Lookouts Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Alan Halsall, who captured player of the game honors. The Longnecks, at 23-39, have lost 5 in a row.

In the top of the first, Jody Clark ambushed a full count cutter from Rust Cohle and hit a 2-run home run. It gave Santa Barbara a quick 2-0 lead.

"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Halsall said.
