Bronze Sox Win at Scranton, 2-0
|
In a tight game between the Texas Bronze Sox and the Scranton Supernovas, pitcher Lewis Carter was terrific on the mound. The Texas right-hander was named the player of the game in Texas's 2-0 win. The Bronze Sox now own a record of 29-33.
The outcome might have been different for Texas, had it not been for Barney Heise, the 30-year old second baseman . Heise stroked a 2-run single in the top of the second inning to put Texas up, 2-0. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"That's the key at this level, throwing strike one," said Carter. "Successful pitchers do it."
