Great Day for Clark in Golden Cranes Win
|
The Santa Barbara Golden Cranes knocked off the Port Royal Disaster, 5-0, at Ballpark of Port Royal. Jody Clark, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Santa Barbara won. The first baseman went 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. With the win over Port Royal, the Golden Cranes improved to 21-34.
Santa Barbara relied on the hitting of Mario van Heijbeeck to pick up the win. The designated hitter ripped a 2-run triple in the top of the fourth inning to put the Golden Cranes on top, 2-0. For the game, van Heijbeeck had 1 triple and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Clark told a Santa Barbara News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
