Loss to Longnecks Extends Scranton Losing Streak
|
The Longnecks had to overcome a good performance from Scranton pitcher Matt O'Keevan to claim a 2-1 win at Nuclear Stadium. O'Keevan went 7 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Gerald Keller picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-8. Matt O'Keevan was tagged with the loss. Branlyn Jaraba recorded the save for Bloomington, his 1st of the season.
Bloomington relied on the bat of Lionel McCloud to get the win. The designated hitter ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Longnecks ahead, 2-0. For the game, McCloud had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"It was a good effort all around," said McCloud.
The 8th-place Supernovas have lost 6 straight games.
