The Calgary Lynx got a superb performance from pitcher Greguorio Espora. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Bloomington. The Longnecks won the game, 5-2. In spite of the loss, Espora was named the player of the game. He threw 8 innings allowing 5 runs. Bloomington reliever Miguel Toro picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Greguorio Espora shouldered the loss. Bloomington is now 20-32, while Calgary is 29-23.
Tony Martínez put Bloomington in front, 5-0, when he took Greguorio Espora downtown. His 3-run home run came with two out in the bottom of the second. It was his 1st home run of the season.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Longnecks manager Coy Knight. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
