Disaster Solve Longnecks, 5-2
|
The Port Royal Disaster knocked off the Bloomington Longnecks, 5-2, at Ballpark of Port Royal. Michael Brannon, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Port Royal won. The first baseman went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs. The win was credited to Walt Cooley in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Rust Cohle took the loss. The save went to Chenor Njie, his 14th this season.
Manny Diéguez had a chance to do some damage in the top of the fourth. With Bloomington trailing 5-0, Bloomington had the bases loaded. Diéguez hit into a double play. But it was not enough. Bloomington would not finish the comeback.
With the victory, the Disaster record now stands at 26-25.
