Augusto Ruíz made an impact in the 9-2 Brinkley win over Santa Barbara. Ruíz went 2 for 2 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Brinkley reliever Edo Culley picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-0. Santiago López was collared with the loss. The Belugas, now 29-21, have won 4 in a row.
Tony Ayala made an early impact for Brinkley when he stroked his 1st home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which came with one out in the bottom of the second, put the Belugas on top, 4-0.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Ruíz.
