Plymouth Quarry was the site of a tense game between the Calgary Lynx and Plymouth Rocks.

Alberto Álvarez pitched a gem to lead Plymouth to a 2-1 victory over the Calgary Lynx. Cullen Taylor closed the door for Plymouth, picking up his 8th save of the year.

The Rocks got a big at-bat from designated hitter Jesús Guillén. For the game, Guillén went 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Plymouth a 2-0 lead.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Álvarez told the Plymouth Citizen.

The Rocks bumped their record to 25-24 with this latest triumph.
